Both Google and Yahoo groups are in negotiations with the U.S. authorities the power to prevent a process that seeks to block the trade association for online advertising, said Tuesday the Wall Street Journal.
"Google and Yahoo are in talks with the Justice Department to try to prevent rejection of their proposed advertising agreement, from the standpoint of competition," the financial daily.
These negotiations "are at an early stage and it is doubtful that end in an agreement to meet U.S. objections or be accepted by the two groups, "he added.
Google had already announced in early October that the launch of its partnership with Yahoo, initially announced in June, would be postponed for the duration of discussions with the U.S. Justice Department in charge of rule on the conformity of the partnership with the laws of competition.
